2020/21 Super Smash Cricket Betting Tips
Santa’s not the only one delivering on December 24, top class Twenty20 cricket returns in the form of the Super Smash. Specifically, the 16th edition of New Zealand's domestic T20 tournament.
32 matches in all is what we can expect over the next two months, but who will be smiling come February? Returning champions, Wellington Firebirds are a decent punt at 6.0, but due to a good drafting the bookies are putting their slimmest odds on the Kings of Canterbury and the Auckland Aces.
One huge disadvantage for the Super Smash is that there is a clash with New Zealand’s international schedule and particularly the fixtures against Pakistan. The upshot being that many top players will not be available for the opening few fixtures. Such misfortunate timing could throw up some interesting results.
The Firebirds and the Aces face each other in the Christmas eve opener and good well lay down a marker for we can expect over the following few weeks. Don’t be too quick to dismiss the claims of the Northern Knights though and, at 5.5, there is more than enough value to find them encouraging.

Popular Bets for Super Smash
As with all cricket competitions, Super Smash betting opportunities are plentiful and, most importantly, a lot of fun! There are always many variables in cricket betting, which opens up many more markets for lucky punters to exploit on the best cricket betting sites. Whether for a match or the tournament as a whole, Super Smash betting delivers everything a cricket bettor could possibly want!
Winner of Super Smash Betting
There are only six teams competing in the Super Smash T20 league, but only one of them can come out on top. If at any point, either before or during a Super Smash season, you feel like you know which team might win, then this winners bet (sometimes referred to as an outright winners bet) is the wager for you. Just pick the team that you believe has the strongest chance of success and add them to your betting slip. If your pick lifts the trophy in February, then your bet will pay out. You can make similar bets for teams to make the final or preliminary finals too.
Top Wicket Taker in Super Smash Betting
In every match, and even throughout the whole Super Smash tournament, stats are compiled as the cricketers achieve their on field aims. With this bet, we're interested in how many wickets bowlers can take, meaning how many batsmen they dismiss. If there's a particular bowler you think will have a good day or season, you can back them to finish the campaign with more wickets to their name than anyone else.

Leading Run Scorer in Super Smash Betting
If a bowler’s aim is to prevent a batsman making runs and ultimately get them out, a batsman’s aim is the opposite. They're there to make the match winning runs and put the scores on the board. Any invested cricket fan will know who the most likely candidates to be top scorer are. But in case you're not, don't worry – having a look through the record books might help, as will following the latest cricket betting tips.

Out for a Duck in Super Smash Betting
A duck is when a bowler dismisses the batsman for zero runs. It doesn’t happen a lot, and typically only to the players at the lower end of the batting order, but betting on a player getting out for a duck or for a duck to occur during a match can be a lot of fun. Either way, duck betting creates another Super Smash betting market, one that's particularly good for live streaming betting.

Tournament Structure for Super Smash
The Super Smash league is made up of six teams, drawn from all quarters of New Zealand. The league begins with a double round-robin format, followed by duel mini preliminary finals before the final match, which decides the champion. The unusual tournament structure employed by the Super Smash is designed to create a more open and competitive competition, which is what makes Super Smash betting particularly fun. All of the teams play each other twice in the group stage. The table topper then progresses to the final, while the second- and third-placed finishing teams take on each other in the preliminary final, with the winning team moving on to the final.
Regarding recruitment, all of the six teams in the Super Smash are allotted a two-player maximum of overseas players. While this is less than other comparable leagues, such as the Caribbean Premier League or the Bangladesh Premier League, a trade-off was made in which it was decided by New Zealand Cricket that it was better for the game to have as many local players as possible in the competition. As of 2018, the Super Smash winning team is rewarded with access to the Champions League Twenty20. This is an annual international Twenty20 cricket tournament contested by the best performing teams from the professional leagues of other major cricketing nations, including the Indian Premier League or the Big Bash League.

CricketBettingAdvice Final Say
The Super Smash is New Zealand's top professional cricketing league, and is also one of the longest-running top-flight professional T20 tournaments in the world. While New Zealand's national team benefits from higher-quality players, the fact that the Super Smash is made up of mostly local players is not to the detriment of the quality of its action. It remains one of the world’s finest domestic cricket tournaments, and Super Smash betting providing some of the best wagering around.
